Welcome to One Car Garage, in which I choose a manufacturer, and you decide one single vehicle that they make or made (no matter how old, no matter how exclusive) to live with for the rest of your life. Following yesterday’s super easy decision regarding !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , I’m going to pull from my hat another European automaker that leaves me with an incredibly easy decision. We’re going to be tackling Lamborghini today.

As I said, this choice is incredibly easy for me, mostly because there’s really only one obvious choice. That is the LM002. Lamborghini’s first (and so far only) production SUV. It’s appalling to me how much criticism Lamborghini has received regarding their plans to produce a new SUV, when they did it 27 years ago. The LM002 is a classic, and an incredibly desirable vehicle. That’s like saying, “Yeah, you made the Countach, but we don’t want you to make another balls-to-the-wall car ever again.” It just doesn't make sense to me.

Anyhow, time for you to decide.

LM002 is a fantastic choice. For me, off the top of my head, it would be a Gallardo Balboni edition.

I would say Miura, and if we can only have production cars then that is definitely my answer, but if we can include concepts, then I'm going with the Estoque.

4 doors with seating for 4, a Lambo 5.4L V10 up front, and those looks? Oh hell yes!

or 350 gt

The LM002 is a great choice, but for 2 things:

1. parts - you have to organize a special group buy with other lm002 suckers...uh...owners so that pirelli will make the tire for you as a special order, at $1200 a tire

2. 80's era lambo means that even the rear view mirror will probably need to be replaced every 10k miles.

As much as I love the Miura, I think I'd pick the 350 GT. It'll be more bearable to live with on a day-to-day basis.

As for the LM002 stipulations; that's fine with me. It's all paid for!

The Criticism of the Urus stems from the fact that it would get it's ass kicked in any real off road duty by the LM002. That and It - like other giant truck sized cars you can't take off road - combines the worst aspects of two different market segments. If you wanted it to be fast, why did you make it so damn big and heavy? If it's not going to go off road (and it's not, because you don't have locking differentials and off road tires on it), why did you raise it so high? If you wanted your giant car to have the interior cargo capacity of a Tahoe, why did you destroy interior space with that sloping roof? Every advantage comes with an equally matched disadvantage. Despite all that, people still pay out the nose for them, so they're obviously not going anywhere. But come on - if you're going to make a new SUV, shouldn't it be at least as awesome as the one you made almost 3 decades ago?

paid for is one thing, but the hassle of it is another. No one really drives these because if a part breaks, they may not be able to source a replacement. I couldn't live with that kind of fragility on a car like that.

It was a tough one for me betw the LM002 and this. Islero is a good choice though. Nice tidy design, beautiful. I can just pack more luggage in this one since *someone* else is paying for fuel and upkeep

I actually was on the LM002 train of thought for a second. It is just alot of metal for me. I have had my share of large SUV's, BJ60's and Wagoneers to know that though great in the snow, they are a bitch to drive around town for the hell of it. Actually wouldnt mind having the one off Faena from 78, as the coupe looks just a little better. Car seats would go better in the 4 door though

Yeah, I can see where you're coming from. SUVs are more of a status symbol than an actual sports utility vehicle, these days. It would be fantastic to see a real LM002 successor, however.
